{pretty, happy, funny, real} due date edition

~ Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life ~
Brought to you by Like Mother, Like Daughter

These photos were taken on Easter Monday, my official due date! (To see our Easter Sunday celebration, click here.) And it's Thursday morning now, and still no baby!!

{pretty} & {happy}

After the Easter storm that blew through on Saturday and Sunday, it was wonderful to see the sun on Monday. It was still quite cold and windy, but the three of us went for a walk down to the pond, our first family walk down there of the season.

Arden walked the whole way there and back by herself! She was quite happy to splash in all the mud and slush puddles on the way.

{funny} & {real}

It doesn't take a whole lot of fancy technology to amuse a 23 month old. Just some real old fashioned outdoor fun!

Arden discovers the water pouring out the spout and down the trough.

Daddy shows her where the water drains out.

Amazed and amused by the whole process!

I'm so looking forward to spring and summer with Arden this year. She is at that stage of discovery where everything is wonderful and new and she can actually enjoy it all!

Next week . . . new baby photos??

{pretty, happy, funny, real} on April 5

Lovely tulips - thanks Mom!

The other night Micah had the sap boiling outside. When he invited me to go out and sit with him to keep an eye on the sap, I decided to take him up on the offer. He had a chair all ready for his pregnant wife, and between a wool blanket and the roaring fire, I was quite cozy despite the freezing temperatures. It was a calm night, and we watched the sky turn colours with the sunset, and later watched the constellations appear when all was dark and quiet.

It was so peaceful and refreshing to simply sit and be in the raw spring evening. I felt truly happy and content.

Mom and I found this antique cradle at the ReStore yesterday! It needs a few screws to replace missing pegs, but otherwise is in good shape. I'm planning to use it as a daytime bassinet for the new baby when we're hanging out downstairs. We just need to find something soft to put in there.

The funny part was Arden this morning, practicing with her own little baby!

Time is almost up! Due Easter Monday!

This was taken just before 39 weeks.

We are eagerly awaiting new life this Easter :) Happy Easter to everyone!
